Welcome to HearthStone Top Plays
Hello and Welcome Hearthstone Fans & Addicts
Let me start by introducing myself, My name is Jorge Cardoso I'm 26 years old. I have been a computer gaming afficinado since my early days, I started by playing Competitive Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Played for various different International teams, I was the Best Portuguese Player of 1vs1 MoH:AA back in 2007, since then I became more of a casual player, Started of by playing League of Legends and achieved Platinum Rank in Season 3, by the end of the season I followed the Worlds and didn't feel that drawn into the game, So ended up changing to CS:GO in which I achieved Legendary Eagle Rank. Some of my friends and family have been talking to me about this new game called HearthStone and since I used to play Magic the Gathering I thought to myself why not give it ago and so I did.
I started my HearthStone adventure a couple of weeks ago and what a Journey it has been, It's game simple enough to understand specially if you come from a Trading Card Gaming (TCG) environment, so I quickly understood the mechanics of the game. In my honest opinion the most difficult part in the beginning is memorizing all the cards there are and therefore make wise decisions about what cards to play and when.
After a week or so of playing Normal Games I decided to play Ranked Games. It is fun and enternaining pushing you to improve yourself and your deck everytime you play.
Go to Rank 20 on my first day, and the good thing about it was the fact that even if I lost I wouldn't loose my rank at all.
From 20 onwards It's a different story, every time you loose a match you also loose a Star, that can lead to loosing up your hard earn rank.
Three days ago I managed to get to Rank 16 and I thought I was doing fine with my version of a Zoo Warlock (Cheap as you could imagine). Then after loosing a few matches I decided that the deck needed a few tweaks and so I did. Played a few arena matches to get some Boosters + coins/dust, and that allowed me to improve significantly my deck.
Today I finally made it to level 10 after improving my deck, I will post my deck list on a next post.
The only downfall of Hearthstone is the lack of a trading system between players, or even a Store that would allow you to buy dust, because earning 1600 dust for your Legendary creature is Hard and it takes a lot of time. The other fault with Hearthstone is the lack of a Spectator Mode that could allow you to watch your friends matches when you don't feel like playing but wouldn't mind watching your friends beating up other players, they could also have an in game chat during matches between the two players facing each other as that would give a a feel of real life playing (like MTG).
All in all I have enjoyed these few weeks of TCG gaming with HearthStone.
If I had to rate Hearthstone I would give it a 8/10.
